| As one of the oldest art forms, sculpture appeared when humans learned to shapestones. With the development of human society, both the denotation and connotationof sculpture have been changed greatly, which proposes high demand of sculptureteaching.In this paper, the research about Sculpture teaching at home and abroad anddigital technology are systematically introduced, and some difficult problems inSculpture teaching relating to space representation, material testing and environmentalchange are analyzed. In the paper, the concrete application of digital technology inSculpture teaching are also analyzed and illustrated, which includes the virtualrepresentation of sculpture entities, the digital emboss sculpture effect, a panoramicview of ancient sculpture, the relations between environment and sculpture, theestablishment of database for digital materials and the teaching concerning materialexperimenting. For the study, the specific research methods include interviews withprofessional teachers, questionnaire investigation among students, literature review,the theoretic analysis and summary of experience.Nowadays, most of the research about digital sculpture or its significance hasbeen done, but the specific application of digital sculpture, especially its role inSculpture teaching, has not been further studied. This is the meaning of this thesis. Itspecifically presents the method of digital sculpture making by3D MAX and how tosolve the digital sculpture transformation problem by3D printing technology; showsdata setting of bas-relief making by photoshop; demonstrates how to bring about theinteractive experience of sculpture material teaching by Virtools; makes clear the wayto fulfill the panoramic view revivification of the large-scale sculpture by motion shotmethod; and explains how to build the common sculpture material library by flashsoftware. The integration of the above contents preliminarily shows the digitaloverview of sculpture teaching, which plays a helpful role for Sculpture teaching inthe future.Sculpture teaching with digital technology has changed the traditional singleteaching mode and method, the constraints of space, site and cost in Sculptureteaching has also been changed. What is more, the digital technology application inthe course is a breakthrough in the understanding of material, which enriches the Sculpture teaching theory. |
