Since the birth of the computer, computer hardware failure and software error areinevitably accompanied. The environment of computer hardware and software in the cloudcomputing environment is more complex. As the number of servers increase, the probabilityof the failure and the difficulty of restoring will increase. Moreover more time that restoringrequired more loss and recovery costs that the failure leads to. So, after the failure, how torestore failures quickly and reduce the impact from failures to the execution of trouble-freetasks is the key for users of cloud services and cloud service providers to reduce losses.This article research a cloud node self-healing mechanism which is based on cloudcomputing model and Multi-Agent Systems. This mechanism intends to make cloud nodesbecome intelligent agents with autonomy, interaction, reaction and initiative. These agents canplay a stronger role in the node self-healing and speed up the Recovery of cloud services. Themain research topics include the following aspects.At first, this article analyzes the key theory and technology of support for the cloud nodeself-healing mechanism based on multi-agent collaboration. This part analyzes the conceptand technical characteristics of cloud computing, introduces the multi-agent technologyincluding its basic concepts, features and collaboration mechanisms which it is the base of theself-healing mechanism of this article and introduces two critical theory of multi-agent. One isthe theory of knowledge and the knowledge base, and the other one is the KQMLcommunication protocols.Secondly, this article researches and analyzes the cloud node self-healing mechanismbased on multi-agent collaboration. This part defines the concept of this self-healingmechanism, analyzes the architecture of multi-agent systems, determines the multi-agentsystems that establishes collaborative relationships by assist agent and describes thecooperation, knowledge processing, communicating in the MAS. At last, this part analyzes thearchitecture of agent.Finally, this article describes the implement and examples of the component of cloudnode self-healing mechanism based on multi-agent collaboration. And verify the validity ofthis component by an experiment.
