Packet Transport Network Technology And Its Application In Mobile Transport Bearing Networks

All service based on IP is one of the primary trends in current communication networks. Traditional SDH technology can not satisify efficient and flexibile IP service bearing requirements. Packet Transport Network (PTN) technology combines advantages of IP/MPLS, Ethernet and SDH technologies which provide intelligent, broadband, flattening IP transport bearing capability. PTN technology supports unified multiple service transport bearing ability and inheriting many advanteges such as time synchoronousing, perfect protection and recovery mechanism, good network management, etc. This thesis presents a comprehensive study on PTN technology and its application in mobile transport bearing networks.Firstly, this theis gives a brief introduction of PTN background, principles and key techniques. A detailed analysis is presents including PTN system architecture, layer model, standard framework, mapping and multiplexing procedures. The networking technology of PTN is introduced such as networking mode, service access model, and convergence with existing networks. Finally, a specific PTN design and implementation scheme is proposed based on the actual PTN upgrating project in mobile transport bearing network.
