As the heat continues to heat up private collectors, private museums are springing up dense and health, private museum spontaneous growth makes the government can not be underestimated. Cultural diversity of modern public service needs to provide, in order to make up for insufficient financial resources can not be in the precious relics and historical relics protection of cultural relics, to fill the lack of state-owned museums in the country, local governments are encouraging diversification of museum policy guidance and support, Kunming City private museum also entered a rapid development stage, and in the development process, there have been many inevitable problems have constrained the development of private museums. How to effectively promote the development of private museums, how to effectively strengthen the supervision of private museums make private museum to fully and efficiently play the role of public cultural services, government departments has become an important issue to be solved.In this paper, the concept of private museums start with an overview of China, Kunming private museum development process, analysis of the government to promote the development of private museums importance and necessity of in-depth analysis of the development of private museums in Kunming stage process problems. Borrowing from the government to promote the development of private museums experiences and practices, as well as other areas of good practice, combined with the actual Kunming, Kunming to promote the development of private museums from three aspects:First, improving regulations, promote development; Second is to strengthen supervision, protection of rights and interests; three is to establish long-term mechanism, and innovative mechanisms.
