The Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) is a new wireless networking method. Itgreatly reduces the cost of network building, but the relative technologies such asrouting protocol has not yet matured, and this greatly hindered the WMN’s practicaluse. the distributed network topology mak es the WMN easily disturbed by factorssuch as channel interference, complex environment of the magnetic field, unstablestrength of the terminal node power, power.down of the device or old equipmentcoverage area superimposed by new equipment, which will produce areas withoutnetwork coverage, and this phenomenon is called island effect. Data transmission inthese regions prone to packet losses and this directly result in unstable networkperformance of mobile terminals.This paper makes a characteristics of the various routing protocol from basis ofWireless Mesh Networks firstly, perform comparison and analysis of these routingprotocols according to different classification methods, make an In.depth study theOMNeT++simulation software, and then make simulation under different loadspecific analysis on several typical routing protocols such as AODV, DSDV, DSR,TORA by the OMNeT++simulation system.we also focus on the reasons for theformation of the island effect, as well as harm to the network In addit ion.After that, I research and analysis the shotcomings of existing routing protocolsin island effect dealing by analysing and understanding the existing routing protocols.And then combined with the characteristics of the island effect, I introduce theconcept of dynamic power, and proposed an improved routing algorithm DAODVbased on the optimization neighbor collection. based on the IEEE802.11protocol,This algorithm improve the effective transmission distance of nodes by dynamicallyremove part of the non.functional efficient neighbors, and increase the chance ofenergy efficient routing choice, so as to achieve the purpose of energy saving andisland effect reducing.the final Simulation test and algorithm analysis shows that thealgorithm can effectively reduce the number of islands node and greatly overcome theisland effect in Wireless Mesh Networks.
