Low light level television system can display bright images under the condition of low illumination. That makes up for the limitations of human eye in the night. LLL TV has been widely used in civilian, public security, military, space technology and many other fields. Considering the shortcomings of large noise, low contrast and blurry edge, the LLL images need to be processed. However, improper image processing can bring edge blurry. By studying target detection technology, this paper attempts to find a way to detect moving targets accurately, improve the flaws of filter algorithm, reduce the noise while keep the clarity of moving object.Firstly, this paper introduces the development of LLL image intensifier and night vision technology, the basic methods of image processing and video processing hardware systems, and determines the main research work and content.Secondly, after analyzing the commonly used moving object detection methods, this paper chooses the inter-frame difference method for real-time processing system. Considering the large noise of LLL image, this paper puts forward the target detection algorithm based on the open operation combining the corrosion and expansion theory, which improves the detection precision greatly.Next, this paper analyzes the characteristics of LLL images, introduces the commonly used spatial and time domain filtering algorithms. Then offers the space-time filtering algorithm based on open operation detections and expounds the process of the algorithm. This paper chooses the video processing system which meets the requirements of real-time, and completes the software design in FPGA hardware platform by means of Quartus â…¡.Then, after introducing some subjective and objective evaluation methods, this paper selects tow methods to make the evaluation of the experimental results:the image signal to noise ratio and the sharpness of target. Finishes the image quality assessment programs with MATLAB, and further illustrates the advantage of the algorithm based on open operation detections through the evaluation data.Finally, makes a summary and points out the innovation and deficiencies.
