In the condition of difficult environment, License plate recognition image have a low degree of recognition. It will reduce the color and contrast of License plate recognition images. So it will reduce the accuracy of the license plate recognition system. Therefore, we need to enhance the image of license plate recognition to eliminate this effect. In order to adapt to the needs of practical application. FPGA-based license plate recognition image enhancement algorithm implementation System is very important.This paper, We have proposed a real-time image enhancement processing method is based on FPGA. The algorithm used by the real-time image enhancement system Contain Histogram equalization algorithm, Image gray stretch algorithm, haze removal algorithm, using dark channel prior. Both histogram and gray strech are Space domain enhancement algorithms. The system is based on the dark channel prior fog model, By estimating the concentration of the fog, the haze image is restored. by way of the reasonable hardware architecture design, experimental results show the real-time Image Enhancement system is achieved.Through the experimental results, we can see the effect of image enhancement, to achieve the desired treatment purposes.
