With the development of science and technology and the progress of modernindustry, the particle problem more and more appears in our life and production.Especially in today’s society, technology and industrial constant progress requires theparticle smaller. So the measurement of particle concentration and particle size hasbecome a new subject in today’s society.Ultrasonic measurement as a means of measurement, has advantages ofnon-contact, strong penetrating power and fast measuring speed, and attracted moreand more attention. Ultrasonic detection has made great achievements in many fields,and in the measurement of particle concentration and particle size, it has been veryin-depth research in the international field. There have been some fairly matureproducts to market; however, and current studies in China are still stayed in the theorylevel, the research of products is in the experimental stage, especially in the field ofultra fine particles. So research in this area, whether it is from the point of view ofscientific research, or starting from the point of view of economic value is verynecessary.This paper combined with the current particle concentration and particlediameter measurement system and the theory development situation, comparedultrasonic measurement and other methods, analyzed the advantages of ultrasonicmeasurement, and designed a detection system which can not be influenced by theparticle volume concentration limit. This paper mainly embarks from the applicationof ultrasound in particle measurement field, does some ultrasonic attenuationexperiment with mature theory. Meanwhile this paper gives a detailed introductionabout ultrasonic attenuation theory, and to explore the feasibility of application.This paper has exploration and research in the following areas:(1) Understanding of the current particle measurement technology, at the sametime this paper introduces the basic principle of ultrasonic measurement, and theapplication of ultrasonic measurement technology, through other measurementmethods and ultrasonic measurement methods comparison, summarized theadvantages of ultrasonic measurement.(2) Using FPGA to build a set of ultrasonic transmitting and receiving equipment.Using the advantages of FPGA internal high integrate, and carries on the analysis of the collected signal by using FFT transform, to improve the measurement accuracy ofthe signal.(3) Comprehensive comparison and analysis of the characteristics of ultrasonicattenuation model, and at last selection of the EACH ultrasonic attenuation model, theexperimental data analysis proved the ultrasonic attenuation mechanism influencewhich proposed in this model.
