A Study On Ethical Problems In Cloud Computing

Since its birth in the21st century, cloud computing has witnessed rapid development. Following personal computer and internet, as the third generation IT trend in Internet reform, cloud computing is changing our way of life and quality of life tremendously. The development of cloud computing technology, however, has brought about ethical problems in security, privacy and legal risks as many other high and new technologies do. All of this remind us to study and keep an eye on the ethical problems brought by cloud computing technology.Based on literature analysis and research analysis, this paper analyzes ethical problems of cloud computing in a systematic and comprehensive manner, and summarizes major ethical problems in view of development, concepts and application of cloud computing and with reference to studies on foreign and domestic ethical problems of cloud computing technology, in an attempt to compare different ethical problems between cloud computing technology and the first-and second-generation information technology.This paper consists of five chapters. The concept and development of cloud computing, and the research of its ethical issues are introduced in chapter1. And in chapter2, the ethical issues about the safety of cloud computing are chiefly discussed, mainly from the security performance and the unique aspect of cloud computing. In chapter3, privacy issues of cloud computing are analyzed, mainly discussed from the privacy performance to the unique aspect of cloud computing. In chapter4, utility evaluation of cloud computing is discussed, mainly introducing the potential benefit of cloud computing, thoroughly analyzing the political economic, ecological and legal risks in the utility evaluation of cloud computing, and pointing the limitation and the difficult parts of the utility analysis. In the end, with the research for the three ethical issues above, this paper proposes the specific ethic strategies for the development and implantation of cloud computing. The strategies are proposed mainly from the specific ethical principle, and specific measures of ethical issues of cloud computing, which not only prevents in ethic, but also ensures and regulates in law and policy to promote the healthy and orderly development of cloud computing.The innovation part of this paper is to analyze the ethical issues of cloud computing comprehensively and systematically, trying to, from an ethical point of view, grasp and highlight what cloud computing distinguishes from the first and second generation of information technology.Research on ethical issues of cloud computing is a challenging task, aiming to a better research and development for cloud computing. Meanwhile, use the little to get the big, hoping more people pay attention to ethical issues of cloud computing and study it to bring more benefits to people.
