Infrared thermal imaging technology has been widely applied in the field of military and civilian markets, but the western countries still take stringent technical blockade and export restrictions to our country, while the detection performance of independent research has a big gap compared with developed countries, which Seriously limit the application of the infrared thermal imaging system developed by our own country. This study was aimed to build high-performance signal processing system by using the latest processors and memory, the combination of low noise power supply circuit and the driving circuit, with the optimized image processing algorithms, in order to complete the development of low cost and high working thermal imaging system miniaturization.This paper analyzed the status and trends of the Infrared thermal imaging technology abroad in the current, and learned the basic composition and transmission model of infrared thermal imaging system, and studied the structure of the focal plane and the mechanism of readout circuit for this series detector designed by developed countries, which provides theoretical basis for the design of the system. In order to achieve low noise miniaturized systems, complex image processing algorithm for real-time, high-resolution image detail capability performance, this paper adopts the latest processor and memory technologies, constructs based on FPGA+DDR3, conducted a low-noise power supply and detector drive circuit. To achieve a stable operation of the high-speed signal circuit, this paper studied the working principles and interface timing of the DDR3memory. Then this paper studied an arbitration control methods to make multiple image processing algorithms shared the DDR3memory by time division multiplexing, which can save a lot of valuable hardware resources on a small system; This paper presented a pseudo-color processing algorithms based on gray mapping for infrared image, to enhance the ability to distinguish details of the infrared image for human eyes. Based on the above technical studies, completed a miniaturized infrared thermal imaging system for a section of uncooled focal plane array detectors, including detector driver circuit, the main image processing circuit, power supply circuit and image output circuit, this infrared imaging system can show images both in VGA and PAL format, and it can be upgraded through the serial port program online dircetly.
