Nowadays, many industrial manufacturing sectors using a large number oftubular metal components to measure the inner diameter has become anindispensable part of the process. With the gradual development of innovativetechnology and modern industry modern industrial manufacturing systems hasbeen a continuously enhance and improve, so efficient products, high reliability,high-performance processing has also been a strong increase.But not only the production process, the process should also include thecorresponding detection technology to ensure its smooth and accurate processingproduction. To make the production of products can be ordered accurately,change should obtain various parameters during product processing and masterall kinds of parameters, and it has very important significance for metal tubularparts inside diameter measurement.For higher metal tube diameter measurement requirements, and the currentmethods used to measure the presence of most of the resolution is too low or toolow to measure the efficiency of the problem, so this paper studies a kind ofoptical measuring system for metal pipe diameter size, the system is mainlycomposed of optical ring generator, reflection prism, gathering prism and CCDcamera. The optical ring generator turns this laser beam emitted by Laser diodeinto a ring laser. This ring laser is reflected by total reflection prism and the ringlaser incident to the inner surface of the measurement parts, then there isscattering and reflecting at the inner surface. Again it is reflected by thegathering prism, finally, forms a ring spot image in the CCD camera. The ringspot image reflects the inside dimension of tubular parts at a particular cross section, after the image processing, the inner diameter can be calculate the metalpipe diameter size.In this paper, used the ring optical cutting image method to design a metalpipe inner diameter measurement system can measure the metal pipe innerdiameter. Through the image processing calculated the results. Experimentalresults show that the system can effectively and quickly realize the measurementof the inner diameter of the metal pipe.
