The Research On Scrum Method Applied In The Wireless Data Portal

Over the last few years, agile development method has been rapidly developed inforeign countries, and has been proved to be a successful approach to softwaredevelopment. Agile development method has been introduced to China for ten years,but the idea of agile development spreading rapidly, and many domestic enterprisesbeginning to practice agile development, and getting benefits occurred only in recentyears. Reference VersionOne reports, in China, the Scrum agile developmentmethodology approach is to be the most widely used.However, due to the differences between Eastern and Western cultures, Scrummethod which was introduced from west appears to be broken up in various practiceswhen it was applied by Chinese software companies. The development process thatthe Scrum method provides is fragented, and enterprises selectively adopt. In thisprocess, whether the master is familiar with the corporate status quo, and whetherthere is a in-depth understanding of the methodology, and whether the team is able toflexibly apply Scrum will play a decisive role. Although many software companies,software developers realized this and our academic also has done some relatedresearch, but the reference literature combined with the actual projects to understandthe connotation and denotation, advantages and limitations is few.The design and development of Wireless data portal adopted Scrum method. Inthe course of these five iterations, the team didn’t fully use the development processthat Scrum method provides, but according to the characteristics of the project, madeflexible adjustments to Scrum method, and achieved great success. In thedevelopment of wireless data portal,the whole development team was divided intothree groups, data development group,front development group and projectmanagement group.The project management group is responsible for part ofScrumMaster’s duties and part of ProductOwner’s duties that are difined in the Scrummethod.Data development group is responsible for data development.And frontdevelopment group is responsible for the front development of wireless data portal.Up to now,wireless data portal has been successfully carried five iterations, and the sixthiteration is being carried.In the process of these five iterations that have beencompleted, the project management team were responsible for the planning anddesign of wireless data portal, dealed with various problems occoured in thedevelopment process. And other groups actively cooperated. Because the wholeprocess of development continues drawing lessons, the iterative process becomesmore and more perfect. Scrum method is not the perfect way of solving the problemin the progress of the development. The Scrum method simply provides a practicalframework to the development team, and needs the team’s continuous improvementbased on the experience and lessons in the process.Finally, the team continuouslyimprove the level of needs analysis, the process of development and the level ofproject management purposes.
