With the development of China’s economy, the railway passenger car and automobile’sproduction had a rapid growth. This makes the requirement of welding quality in theautomobile manufacturing becoming much higher. The spot welder used in weldingworkshop is usually hanging spot welder, which need water-cooled cables during working.The lives of water-cooled cables differ according to their quality, but generally are abouthalf a year. However, the cable easily damaged if spot welding machine work in the longterm. What’s more, it can be found hardly because the cable is wrapped by hose, unlessbreak completely. In the process of broken, the welding current has changed and damagesthe substandard quality, which affects the quality of automobile.The purpose of this paper: all the spot welding controllers which installed in work shop areunable to replace in large scale. So we suppose to add a monitoring system for spot welding parameters,which makes the whole system work in Ethernet. Lower machine transmits the collected real-time datato the host computer using TCP/IP protocol via LAN. Thus, we can monitor all the spot weldingequipments in the same time. So unqualified welding products can be realized timely, promote theworkshop’s efficiency, cut the cost.The focus of this paper is to achieve high efficiency in monitoring and managing the spot weldingconditions of the entire welding workshop to ensure the welding quality, through increasing an Ethernetcontroller to the lower machine which has real-time acquisition function. The selected main controllerchip is ATMEGA128as same as the lower computer’s chip.ENC28J60is used as Ethernet controller. Ithas only28pins which has a great effect on simplifying the design. The connection is very convenientbecause that ENC28J60has a standard SPI interface.Data transmission of the whole network monitoring system is completed based on TCP/IP protocol.uIP is transplanted to the system as a embedded TCP/IP protocol stack. uIP protocol stack has a veryhigh requirement on real-time, which is consistent with the data transmission’s requirements. Throughsetting the basic parameters of the lower computer, such as the MAC address、IP address and so on, theprotocol stack can run smoothly on ATMEGA128without operating system. Data transmission is basedon TCP protocol. Data package format is Customized before the transmission, it can guarantee that the different welding machine and spot welding parameters will transfer to the upper computerreal-timely and correctly.
