The family business is one of China’s current economic development and strength, but thereare still a lot of problems in our family business heritage. This led to many family businessinheritance is not successful, they have to appear the former leaders to reclaim the managerembarrassing. a key link in the Intergenerational inheritance is selection, so smoothly heir ofselection, processing good family business intergenerational inheritance question, to guaranteethe success of the family business continuance, enduring.In this paper,based on the comprehensive sort heir selection, competency system and familybusiness performance related literature at home and abroad,first of all analyses the factorsaffecting the selection of the heir, mainly comes from the business owners, family and heir threeaspects; Secondly, the establishment of a successor competency system, including personalqualities, strategic management capacity, management ability, communication skills, gratified potentialfive dimensions; Finally completed the family business performance system, and divided intofamily performance and business performance. Family business measure lessons from the F-PECscale of power, experience, cultural three dimension; Business performance measure from thethree aspects of capacity performance, development performance and financial performance.On the basis of the above theoretical model is built and present situation analysis of the causes, thepaper constructs a theoretical model of the competency system and family business performance andcompetency system and family businessperformance proposed the theoretical hypothesis.In competency system and family business performance empirical study, this article throughto the literature maturity scale extraction combined with many professional personage proposal,design the competency system and family business performance questionnaire scale.The researchobject of this scale is the heritage of the family business has occurred.a totalof300questionnaires were distributed and248were returned, of which206valid questionnaires,the effective rate is83%. The survey data using SPSS and LISREL statistical software, factoranalysis, correlation analysis, partial correlation analysis, structural equation method to completethe empirical research and verify the relationship of the the competency system family businessperformance assumptions.Personal qualities, Strategic management capacity, management ability,communication skills with the family performance and business performance are positively correlated. Gratified potential with family performance is positive correlation, but with business performance related isnot obvious. Selection factors do not directly affect the relationship of competency system and family businessperformance.The paper finally, the verification results are discussed, and combined with the paper results and Chinesefamily enterprise current situation about the future research are made, so as to Chinese family enterprise heir toprovide a theoretical reference selection.
