Research On The Investment Consultant Administration Of M Branch Of CB Securities Company

China’s securities market and securities industry has experienced two decades of rapiddevelopment and continues to mature towards an increasingly competitive industry. Due to theobjective requirements of the market environment and industry development stage, it is in anurgent need for transformation of the brokerage business. After the abolition of the fixedcommission system, the commission war escalated among the securities companies, resulting inthe commission rate nearly equaling the cost. Securities companies had to change the profitmodel in order to formulate new core competitiveness and build a reasonable way of income. OnOctober19,2010, the China Securities Regulatory Commission issued 《securities investmentadvisory business Interim Provisions》 to change the commission of the dependence of thetraditional brokerage business of securities companies to promote the professional financialservices to reaching core competitiveness and guiding the business model of a securitiescompany to service the fee change and promote the diversification of the securities company’sprofit model. Securities and investment advisory business launched a year later, the majorsecurities firms are still at the exploratory stage, and there is a huge investment consultant gap of5.2million. In this paper, the analysis of these cases, fully explains the significance of the stagesnecessary to launch securities investment consulting business. Learning from a mature foreigninvestment consultancy model, the author researched the Position Management of M branch,where the author works, making up the job description by analyzing the competence and in turn,making an analysis of the staff recruitment and selection, new personnel training, performancemanagement and compensation design. This has allowed M branch to find the right direction andmethods for the development of the investment advisory business and at the same time,providing an effective draw for other companies’ investment advisory business. Smoothing thetransformation of China’s brokerage business and contributing to the development of China’ssecurities industry in order to adapt to the degree of internationalization of the escalating marketenvironment.
