With the long-term rapid development of China’s economy, the demand for energy andresources will continue to expand, and this provides a huge profit and broad prospects forthe development of mining enterprises in China. Energy and resource extraction industry isfacing fierce competition from both domestic and international. How about thecompetitiveness of domestic mining industry companies, and whether can they survive anddevelop in the brutal market competition is related to economic security and energysecurity in China.Mining industry companies have a large numbers and various sizes, and thetechnology management levels vary widely. This paper selects some of these listedcompanies to expand the core competence evaluation study, firstly, because the data oflisted companies are easy to obtain, and easy to carry out quantitative research; secondly, Ihope that through the study of the companies which have “management specification” andthe stronger core competitiveness, to make a comprehensive and objective judgment on thecompany’s overall competitiveness of the mining industry, provide a reference for thenational implementation of industry management. In addition, the comprehensive analysisof its core competitiveness is an effective way to enable companies and government, andthe vast majority of investors, stakeholders to make accurate judgments, and can achievethe goal of improve the investment income, and reduce the risk. Based on the aboveunderstanding of core competitiveness, this paper sets the listed mining industry companiesas the research objects, combined with panel data model, to analyze the financial andnon-financial factors, which have effect on core competitiveness power, aiming tocomprehensively enhance the core competitiveness of the listed extractive industriescompanies, and create conditions for achieving sustainable development in the future.The paper is divided into seven parts. The first part is an introduction, mainly on thebackground of the topic, the significance, the research methods, the research content andthe technology roadmap. The second part is a literature review, through combing the studyof the core competitiveness of domestic and foreign scholars, to establish researchfoundation, provide reference for research direction, research methods, and research model.The third part is the theoretical research, through discussing the connotation of corecompetitiveness, strategic theory, financial management theory, corporate governance theory, corporate performance theory, and sustainable development theory, to establish asolid theoretical foundation for this article. The fourth part is the core competitivenessevaluation model, detailedly discussing the establishment conditions and the form of themodel. The fifth part is the evaluation index system, according to analyze and select itsgeography, the main business and other factors, combined with the results of the design ofthe core competitiveness indicators at home and abroad, to build the index system of corecompetitiveness of the listed extractive industries companies. The sixth part is empiricalstudy of the core competitiveness and the explanation of the result. The last part is theconclusion of the study, it summarizes the thesis work, and makes a outlook of the futurelisted extractive industries companies.This paper may exist the following innovation: firstly, the research perspective. Thisstudy of core competitiveness is based on all the listed companies, take full account of thespecial nature of the mining industry, and build the research framework. Secondly, theevaluation index system. The process of the study introduces non-financial index of valuerelative number of employees, degree ratio, the proportion of researchers, and rebuild theevaluation index system of core competitiveness of listed mining industry companies.Thirdly, the evaluation model of core competitiveness. This paper presents a evaluationmodel to fully reflect the core competitiveness of listed mining industry companies, inorder to make a comprehensive and objective evaluation of the core competitiveness ofChina’s listed mining industry companies.
