The current market environment is buyer-driven. The variety and small batchproduction mode has become more mainstream. In this context, to establish a goodproduction plan and control system which is consistent with the actual situation, canguarantee efficient production in enterprise and respond customer needs quickly, then togain competitive advantage, and enable enterprises to gain more revenue. Thetraditional production plan and control system which is represented by MRPⅡ and JIT.They are not suitable for the variety and small batch production mode. The emergenceof TOC open up a new way of thinking to solve the above problems. It’s a set ofmanagement of philosophy and management of tools. Its core idea is simultaneousproduction. This study is DBR. DBR is a tool of the production plan and controlsystem of TOC.This paper is on the basis of summarizing and commenting the domestic and foreignrelated research, analysis the traditional production plan and control methods and DBRmethod, then indicates the shortcomings of the traditional production plan and controlmethods and the advantage of DBR method. There’re a few key issues in practicalapplications of DBR. This paper discusses some problems deeply from identifying thebottleneck, setting the buffer, determining the volume and creating the schedule. In thispaper we combine DBR with computer simulation, propose a improved DBR methodbased on simulation. In the end, a specific example applied improved DBR methodbased on simulation for products mix is given. The results show that the improved DBRmethod can increase the throughputs of system, lower WIP and short production leadtime. This improved method is proved feasible.
