Lean production is a complete open theoretical system, Its core idea is to put an end to anyform of waste. With the advent of the era of meager profit, the lean production model developedas a tool for enterprises to enhance their competitiveness in the new environment.This review focuses on tooling development process of Shanghai KST automotive electricCo.,Ltd,Combine with the idea of lean management and industrial engineering, analysis thereason of long tooling development cycle and semi-finished products accumulation, andpropose improvement program, so as to achieve the purpose to reduce cycle time, reduce thebacklog, reduce costs, improve profits. Combination of lean management thinking andindustrial engineering practices, this thesis covers many aspects of our study. With a variety ofQC statistical methods, analysis the reason for each section in the accumulation of products andtake the appropriate improvements. By studying the line balancing, found its uneven section,through the adjustment of the production configuration, so that the tooling development andmanufacturing of balance has been effectively improve. Finally, we reinvented the way thecurrent switch of production tooling development, exist batch production methods into astreamlined production methods. The same time in this streamlined production methods, use thevisual billboard, achieve the current driven into production to pull production. Thus avoidingthe accumulation tooling work in process, pulling the balance of the tooling manufacturing;the application of linear flow, mode of production to shorten the tooling work in processwaiting time, thus shortening the production cycle of the electrical switch.
