Japanese Scholars "overwork" A Review

According to ILO data at the end of the20th century, it is speculated that some ofChina’s industry had emerged from “over-fatigued”. Especially in the context oftoday’s rapid economic development, increased social competition and pressure tosurvive, fast paces of lives that people are facing makes the group with overworkrapid expansion, as well as frequent accidents caused by such living status, whichleads to wide concern of society.Although in recent years several Chinese scholars have studied the “over-fatigued”issues that our country are facing at the present stage from three aspects, originanalysis, current situation investigation and countermeasures proposing, thedevelopment of over-fatigued study still in its infancy regardless of the number of therelevant literatures or from establishment of research system. In contrast, the relevantresearch achievement in Japan has important and meaningful references to othercountries due to the early over-fatigued issues occurring and its wide-ranging impact,as well as the relevant research began early and lasted long time.As the first piece of domestic literature review focusing on the study of over-fatiguedissues based on research results from Japanese scholars, this article are designed byanalyzing the literatures ever existing, which explains the meaning of over-fatigued,developing trends of over-fatigued and growing of affirmation benchmark to theinjuries brought by over-fatigued. Meanwhile it summarizes the developing trends ofJapan over-fatigued research. After that, it goes to the summary of reason about howover-fatigued issues comes out in Japan by way of considering in Economics,Sociology, Medical Science and Law on the basis of briefing long-time laboringsituation in Japan. Then this article macroscopically and microscopically sums uprelevant research of impact on over-fatigued issues and countermeasures by Japanesescholars referring to labor, enterprise and government. In the last, based on theforegoing analysis, author generalizes the study characteristics of Japan over-fatiguedissues as four aspects: content-rich, wide subject and object involving, big differencesof interdisciplinary studying and diverse research agencies. Besides, this article bringsthe inspiration and values to domestic over-fatigued issues study in terms of currentresearch status in China as well.
