Intermediate business of commercial banks is the business that the bank does notuse or less use their own capital and goods, acts as an intermediary for the client totransact reoccupied business and other commission matters, providing variousfinancial services and accepting handling charge. Its business and assets, liabilities,business constitute the three basic business of commercial banks. In Westerncountries, the intermediate business income has become a major part of thecommercial banks operating income. However, the development of intermediatebusiness of commercial banks in China, is still in its infancy. With the deepening ofthe globalization of the world economy and China’s rapid economic development,China’s commercial banks will have to participate in a more intense competitivefinancial markets, faced with the challenges of a more powerful foreign banks,"Inorder to meet the development trend of international banks to improvecompetitiveness of the commercial banks, vigorously develop the the intermediatebusiness has become an inevitable choice for the development strategy of thestate-owned commercial banks.Shandong Province Rural Credit Cooperative is one of the larger financialinstitutions in Shandong province. Over the years, Shandong Province Rural CreditCooperative is based on the support the coordinated development of urban and ruraleconomy, support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, andsupport the development of the rural economy, undertake national policy loans,payment of subsidies, deposit, loan and other business, to solve the "three rural"issues made an indelible contribution to accelerate the construction of new rural. Afterthe reform and opening up, as China’s rapid economic development and financialmarket reforms to speed up the process, the social requirements of financialinstitutions to multiple services from a single capital requirements requirementschange in the middle of the rural credit cooperatives in Shandong Province, thebusiness has been rapidly expanding. Shandong Province Rural Credit Cooperativesintermediary business has developed to the five major categories of31varieties,with some intermediate business development experience.Starting from the concept of intermediate business of commercial banks, thecharacteristics and changes of the intermediate business of commercial banks; then describes the meaning of strategic management theory and the main representative ofperspectives, including Ansoff theory of resource allocation strategies, Porter’scompetitive strategy theory and the goal of strategic theory Andrews. On this basis, the guiding ideology of Shandong Province,rural credit cooperatives in the development of intermediary business developmentgoals and strategic choice. Finally, a few suggestions to safeguard the smoothimplementation of the rural credit cooperatives in the middle of the businessdevelopment strategy in Shandong Province.
