Wellness tourism, as the adaptation to the rapid development of economy andsociety, comes into being in an advantaged form. It is the product of the mutualintegration of the tourism industry and the wellness industry. Its primary aim is tomeet people’s demand of health.At present, whether at abroad or at home, the study for wellness tourism is farfrom comprehensive. According to the research situation, it shows the achievementand stresses the importance of health in both body and mind. Also it demonstratesthere is a long way to go in the aspect of the clear definition, operational planning,marketing and products design of wellness tourism. This paper discusses some basicproblems about wellness and wellness tourism. In the microscopic level, it aims toobtain a sound mind and body; in the macroscopic level, wellness is wellnesspreserving in culture. Wellness tourism is a senior tourism pattern, it follows the ideasof wellness in Chinese tradition and modern times, by way of developing activities ofwellness, it meets people’s demanding for a sound mind and body and a better socialadjustment. Furthermore, it gives an analysis on the resources, products, andmarketing of wellness tourism. In the aspect of the theoretical basis of the study, itoutlines the theory of tourism industry cluster and tourism resources integration.Tourism industry cluster is the extending of industry cluster to the service trade, andthe main line of its establishment is the constant creation of value and better service oftourism products. Tourism industry cluster owns some advantages in the field of cost,market and innovation and so on. Tourism industry is provided with the possibilityand essentiality when it develops along the industry cluster. By a series of measures,tourism resources integration coordinates and unifies the whole factors of system, andit aims at optimizing and upgrading tourism resources.Based on the theoretical research, on the basis of the blank space that lesssystematic research on a district nowadays, districts under Wendeng administration is the object of the study. Through the ways of statistical analysis and ASEB GridAnalysis, it discusses the situation of wellness tourism development in Wendeng indetail. It refers to the conditions of geography, transport, economy, tourism resourcesin Wendeng, the achievements in the field of city brand, configuration of wellnesstourism industry, tourism marketing and supporting facilities, also the problems in theflied of tourism resources integration, city popularity and supporting services. Thenby using of the theory of tourism industry cluster and tourism resources integration, itdiscusses the train of thought about coastal wellness tourism development in Wendeng.From six aspects, the marketing, tourism resources, city brand, tourism supportingservices, government and opportunity, it discusses the feasibility of coastal wellnesstourism clustering development in Wendeng. Based on the feasibility, it conceives amodel of the coastal wellness tourism industry, then points out the horizontal structureand the vertical structure of the model, and selectively analyzes the three levels of themodel. Centering on the pattern of “four mountains, five hot springs, and onecoastline”, showing the feature of coastal wellness, it walks towards the direction ofclustering development of wellness tourism.
