With the constantly development of society and increasingly improving living standards,natural environment quality is declining and people's pursuit for health and longevity is growing.Healthy life,recreation and relaxation have gradually become a trend.Therefore,health and wellness tourism emerges and enjoys rapid growth.The direction and priority of regional tourism development is limited by its tourism resources,which are the precondition and foundation for its tourism development.Tourism planning and development should be established on the scientific understanding of tourism resources.It can be said that health and wellness tourism is rising star in the industry.The recognition and research of health and wellness tourism resources as well as the clear classification and evaluation of them are one of the most important priorities of modern health and wellness tourism research.In this paper,starting with the beneficial elements of soil for human health,health and wellness tourism resources were recognized from a whole new perspective,the concept of soil resources was initially clarified and the recognition system for soil resources was built.Afterwards,cases were studied and suggestions concerning development and exploitation were put forward.The main conclusions were as follows:(1)Based on the references of tourism resources and relevant knowledge of health and wellness tourism,the concept of soil as such a tourism resource was initially clarified.It refers to the soil which contains healthy,nourishing and health-preserving functions for human body and can be developed into a tourism product with its attraction for tourists.(2)Soil mainly has 2 kinds of healthy and nourishing functions,direct one and indirect one.Direct healthy and nourishing function means that the healthy and nourishing elements in the soil can directly impact human health while indirect one refers to indirect influence of those materials or elements on human health through water or plant.(3)The interactive relations and paths between human body and soil are the main ways for soil to realize its healthy and nourished functions.Based on theconcept of soil as such a tourism resource,analyze the features of soil as such a tourism resource are healthy,nourishing,natural,regional and temporal.(4)With the national standards in Tourism Resources Classification,Research and Evaluation(GB/T18972-2017)as the subject for the classification and evaluation of current tourism resources in this paper,it was discovered that its classification and evaluation were not suitable for the soil resources mentioned in this paper.(5)With references of the concept,feature and classification principles of soil resources initially were raised in this paper and the main functions of soil's healthy and nourishing elements for human health,an initial classification system and recognition indexes were built.There system of soil resources was divided into 2,health-preserving resource as well as recovery and healing resource.(6)With Yunnan Province as the case and in accordance with the data from An Overview of the Study on National Soil Environment Background Values and Research on the Geochemistry and Geological Application of Yunnan Province,soil's healthy and nourishing elements of Yunnan Province were extracted with reference of the healthy and nourishing elements' value range of Yunnan Province in this paper and the use of computer software.Together with the overlay analysis of data,the type of soil tourism resource of Yunnan Province was recognized.According to the recognition result,the suggestions concerning the development and exploitation of soil resource of Yunnan Province was initially put forward.
