Research On The Technological Innovation Efficiency Of Household Electrical Appliance Enterprises

Technical progress is the impetus of economic growth, while technical innovation actsthe key factor to achieve technical progress. Through over30years development, Householdelectrical appliance industry grows into mature with the appearance of many competitivehousehold electrical appliance enterprises. However China is located in the end of value chainin this field due to the absence of core technology, which always puts this industry in anawkward position in international competition. During the intense competition, theconsciousness of technical innovation couldn’t counteract the poor efficiency of technologicalinnovation. In adaption to the pressing demand for technical innovation, the change oflabor-intensive enterprises to skill-intensive ones become imperative. Therefore, urgent issuesconcerning the improvement of technological innovation efficiency and the fulfillment ofgreat power in the household electrical appliance industry lay in front of us.Based on the review of existing achievement about technical innovation and efficiency,this paper analyzes the present situation facing China’s household electrical householdelectrical appliance enterprises, moreover, a comparison of both home and abroad is presentedhere. Then, an evaluation index system of household electrical appliance enterprises isconstructed on account of China’s concrete characteristics in this field. DEA is applied toevaluate the technical innovation efficiency of10listed enterprises; meanwhile, the efficiencyof subsidy policy is also measured on the basis of studied enterprises’ group division. Insuccession, Malmquist index method is adopted to evaluate variation trend of10listedenterprises’ technological innovation efficiency. Finally, some advises are raised to deal withthe inefficiency of some enterprises.Conclusion is listed as the following:(1) The overall technological innovation efficiency of China’s household electricalappliance enterprises remains low as a result of inefficiency of pure technology;(2) No advantage of scale is available;(3) Input redundancy is prevailing to a certain degree;(4) Prompt for technological innovation efficiency by subsidy policies is conceived;(5) The year2009to2012witness a descend of TIE and technological progress at the rate of1.1%and15.4%per year respectively; while technical efficiency increased by yearly16.9%.(6) Positive relationship exists between TIE and technological progress during2009to2012, and technological progress of household electrical application enterprises contributes agreat deal.
