Maritime transport has become the main mode of transport for international trade, Guangxi is located in the coastal, with the overall construction of the Beidu Bay Economic Development Zone, China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, the rapid development of the West River Economic Belt, also with the autonomous regional government’s policy support for the repair shipbuilding and engineering equipment industry, these have created a favorable environment for the development of the shipping industry in Guangxi. However, the risk of maritime transport is much higher than land transport, it is not only to face the storms, tsunamis and other natural disasters, accidents and external risks, etc, once the risk of accidents, the Shipping Companies will face heavy pressure of compensation. The shipping company in Guangxi are generally in small scale, and lack of magement capability, therefore, to make the maritime transport industry development, in addition to the shipping company to strengthen their own contruction, also need the help of insurance companies to transfer their risk. And this is an important opportunity for insurance companies to improve their popularity, growth capital strength, therefore, the insurance companies should actively expand hull insurance business, really play the functions of insurance, stability and promote the development of shipping industry in Guangxi area.Firstly a brief description of the status of the Guangxi region’s shipbuilding industry and ship enterprises, after market distribution of the ship insurance business in the region, and analysis the formation of the oligopolistic market. In the third chapter, with the Foreign-developed insurance market(British, America, Japan insurance market), famous insurance organizations and insurance companies(Lloyd’s, Allianz SE, Tokiomarine, etc) as an example, analysis their characteristic and the pathway to success, combined with the development of China’s insurance market history as well as today’s market environment, puts forward worth learning from foreign experience. The final chapter mainly analysis the measures to promote Guangxi Hull Insurance business development, mainly combined with the theory of Insurance Marketing, Public Relations, Management of the hull insurance business, Industry chain. In reference to one experienced in the hull insurance business, put forward a few suggestions of my own, to strengthen the communication with government departments, shipping companies and related companies, to maintain a good relationship between them, use intermediaries sales strategy for different nature of the shipping companies, through its own services to secure the long-term cooperation relationship.
