Tourism industry is a sunrise industry, but China’s tourism enterprises are still notwell developed, and there are a lot of problems. So tourism enterprises have a long wayto go in China. In this paper, we take a case study of Xiangxi travel agency as thebreakthrough point to analysis the deficiencies and shortcomings in its development.And then we put forward the corresponding countermeasures combined with thecharacteristics of Xiangxi tourism enterprises, with a view of certain referencesignificance for the whole tourism enterprises.This article mainly uses the method of qualitative analysis, literature research andcomparative analysis. In the foundation of discussion of the basic meaning andimportant role of the information in tourism enterprises, we mainly study the strategyand countermeasure for the development of Xiangxi tourism informatization, andanalysis the deficiencies and shortcomings in the development. Finally, we puts forwardthe corresponding countermeasures which draw lessons from advanced experience ofdomestic and international tourism informatization and combine the characteristics ofXiangxi tourism enterprises. This paper also draw on the present situation of theXiangxi travel informationization construction: every county in Xiangxi have givenconcern to the local tourism information construction in some degree, and the tourisminformatization got a certain extent development, which is mainly reflected in the hotelinformation, travel agency information, scenic spot channels information andinformation technology personnel all had certain development;the existing problems inconstruction of Xiangxi travel informationization: the level of tourism informatization islow and the consciousness is dim, the exploitation and utilization of travel informationresource is little, the high-end personnel of tourism information lack, the governmentservice function is not perfect, the construction tourism web sites is repeat and profuse,there is no overall development planning of traveling electronic government affairs, andthe infrastructure of tourism informatization needs to be further improved;the cause ofthe problems in construction of Xiangxi travel informationization: the management ideais relatively unenlightened, the construction of tourism informatization in static, thesoftware construction is ignored, and the tourism information is lack of pertinence andvalidity;the strategic thinking on the development of Xiangxi tourism information:further enhance the Xiangxi tourism information construction knowledge, increase thegovernment support to tourism informatization construction, train high-quality talent of tourism informatization, strengthen the integration of tourism resources, perfect theservice system construction of Xiangxi tourism information, and build the integratedplatform of Xiangxi tourism information.
