With the rapid development of Internet technology, the online banking business by virtue of its advantages in cost, technology and many other aspects, has gradually overwhelmed in the banking sector. Based on analysis of online banking business history and current status of the development of China’s commercial banks, and taking the development of online banking business of China’sMerchants Bank for example, Point out the influence factors of online banking business core competence development and its existing problems. Comparisonand learning the development of the China Merchants Bank and HSBC onlinebanking, From user safety knowledge and learning, differentiation of productsand services, the clear bank strategic planning, with e-commerce and third-partypayment companies cooperation mechanism, perfect laws and regulations to enhance the core competitiveness pathway of online banking in China’s commercial banks.This article is divided into five chapters:Chapter1: Introduction gives a brief overview of the research background,significance, contents, methods, its possible innovations and deficienciesChapter2: Theory of commercial bank’s core competitiveness. Stating the originof the concept of core competence and its dominant factor, this thesis make an overallreview to the relevant theories at home and abroad including "competitiveness","corecompetencies","commercial bank’s core competitiveness" and "online bank’s corecompetitiveness ".Chapter3: the development and the problems of the core competitiveness ofonline banking business in China’s commercial banks. Basing on the developmentenvironment of the core competitive power of online banking in China’s commercialbanks and the developmental course of online banking, and taking the development ofonline banking business of China’s Merchants Bank for example, this part analyzesthe influencing factors in the core competitiveness of online banking from the view ofthe commercial bank’s core competitiveness and further find the defect in the onlinebanking business of the commercial banks.Chapter4: the analysis of the core competitiveness development of onlinebanking in Chinese and foreign commercial banks---comparing China MerchantsBank with HSBC online banking. Starting from the internal and external competitiveness, in combination of the fourth chapter analysis and the gap betweenthe development of domestic banks and foreign banks, the comparison proves that theemulation from the experience of foreign banks will better promote the developmentof online banking in China’s commercial banks.Chapter5: an effective way to enhance the core competitiveness of onlinebanking business in China’s commercial banks. From user safety knowledge andlearning, differentiation of products and services, the clear bank strategic planning,with e-commerce and third-party payment companies cooperation mechanism, perfectlaws and regulations to enhance the core competitiveness pathway of online bankingin China’s commercial banks.
