China Cinda Asset Management Co.,Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "CCAMC") developed out of China Cinda Asset Management Corporation. In April1999, in order to copy with the Asian financial crisis, dissolve the financial risks, promote the reforming and development of State-owned banks and State-owned enterprises, the Chinese Government learned from foreign countries’ experience in dealing with Non-Performing Loans(NPLs), set up China’s first asset management companies(AMC)-China Cinda asset management Corporation. After12years of continuous exploration, taking the operation and management of NPLs as the core business of the company, through acquisition, restructuring, establishing, CCAMC has set up9securities, futures, funds, trusts, financial leasing, life insurance, property insurance, direct investment and other financial and non-financial subsidiaries, has formed a prototype of financial holding group initially. But its subsidiaries’ are still relatively small in enterprise scale and economic strength, and have not formed a sustainable business mode, their synergistic effect is not remarkable, their earnings and profits take a small portion in the CCAMC group, could not act as engine of the CCAMC group. This paper takes CCAMC as research object, though analyzing its history and status quo, using strategy management theories integrated, especially the parenting advantage theory, to evaluate CCAMC’s existing diversification strategy, analyze CCAMC’s parenting advantage, and position and optimize CCAMC’s diversification strategy anew, form diversification strategies of CCAMC based on parenting advantage, and put forward some supporting measures.
