Research On Technological Innovation Of Small&Medium Enterprises Based On The Patent Literature Analysis

It is an important way to innovate by consulting patent literature. Small&mediumenterprises are the smallest element of national economy and the most important power whichmaintains the normal operation of national economy. As the continuously advance of the economysystem reform, the proportion covered by small&medium enterprises in the total enterprises iscontinuously increasing too. Compared to the technological innovation of large enterprises, it hasinner disadvantages of capital, technology, human resource and other terms in small&mediumenterprises. Since those enterprises are always small-scale, there are also many advantages of realflexibility, low risk when entering new market, easy innovation organization and others. Thedevelopment of modern theories of science and technology and all technology messages goingpublic provide opportunities to get the theories and premise technology.This thesis makes the definition of small&medium enterprises from technology innovationtheories, analyzes the present application of patent literature in the process of innovation, findsthat small&medium enterprises have low utilization rate of patent literature, weak awareness ofpatent, incompleteness of patent database and low discrimination among the free patents.Otherwise, by the analysis of patent literature application and cases, this paper concludes thefunctions of patent literature to small&medium enterprises innovation: they can provide technicalreference to innovation, guide the market, avoid patent rows, guide the domestic and internationaltrades, find partners or potential competitors, save cost of research and improve productivity. Atlast, it makes suggestions on innovation by patent literature as following: it should improve themanager’s awareness of patent, build their own patent database, import advanced patent database,avoid useless research and stand up for their rights by law when necessary.
