Quanzhou County Economy Difference And Empirical Analysis On Its Influencing Factors

Quanzhou, acting as a major leading role for economic development in Fujianprovince, whether its county-economy develops in a balanced and sustainable wayhas a profound effect on macroeconomics overall. Over the past few years, thanks tosupportive policy of construction of the Economic Zone on West Side of Strait, andpractice of strategy for “sea-land interdynamic boost and point-axis extension”, a lotof achievements have been made. However, the economic difference betweencounty does exist and becomes a drag on economic development. This paper, bycombining single-indicators and Multi-factorial Evaluation methods, focus onanalyzing general situation of Quanzhou county economic difference. The single-indicators method presents that county-economy disparities evolve with time. And,from regional decomposition of Tin’s index and industry decomposition of Ginicoefficient, we learn about spatial features and industry structure respectively.Besides, in terms of development level, structure and speed, the paper collects13indicators, using statistical softwareSPSS16.0, to rank each county’s comprehensivestrength. It turns out that county relative difference has become narrowed, butabsolute difference grows larger, particularly between coastal and mountainous areacounty.Therefore, in order to empirically analyze those factors which effect region andurban economic development, the article employs panel data model. The modelshows that contributing rate of those factors differs from each other. In the final part,combined with evaluation of economic indicators and the results of the empiricalanalysis, it mainly mentions coping measures to narrow gap between coastal andmountainous area county. It emphasizes each county develops their comparativeadvantage, and embodying local characteristics. Apart from these, to optimize andupgrade the industrial structure, to raise labor productivity and county urbanizationrate, to strengthen government macroscopically surveillance will benefit countyeconomy a lot. Furthermore, constructing sea-land interdynamic boost, perfecting government support policy can also provide a strong motive to boost Quanzhoueconomy overall.
