The Research On Optimiazation And Upgrade Of The Structure Of Jiangsu Shipping Industry

Jiangsu shipping industry as one third of China shipping industry,has made great process after ten more years of hard work. In recent years it has even surpassed Shanghai and been the largest province in shipbuilding. However at the same time it still exist some problem,for example:weak capability of ship design, low grade of ship equipment,low level of control and so on. Compared with advanced shipbuilding countries such as Japan or Korea, the overall level is relatively behindhand. In addition, influenced by the international market, Jiangsu shipping industry presents a vulnerability side. So it is necessary to optimize and upgrade it. The main content of this paper is as follows:(1) Overview the theories of industry structure&industry structure optimization and define the shipping industry structure, then from industry structure, industry organization structure, product structure and regional structure these four aspects to comprehensive analyse the current situation of Jiangsu shipping industry structure.(2) Combine with the current situation of Jiangsu shipping industry structure,use grey relational analysis on output value of each department and total output value of Jiangsu shipping industry, which includes shipbuilding industry, ship equipment industry and repair&ship-breaking industry. The result shows that the development of Jiangsu shipping industry is unbalanced, the ship equipment industry and the repairing&ship-breaking industry can’t keep up with the development of shipbuilding industry, the industry structure is unreasonable. Then use Location Entropy Analysis method on Jiangsu and the major areas of the country to do comparative analysis. It comes that Jiangsu shipbuilding industry and ship equipment industry have an advantage compared with the national average level, but repair&ship-breaking industry is weak.At last use Industrial Concentration method to determine the concentration of Jiangsu shipping industry, it gets the result that theconcentration of Jiangsu shipping industry is low, the enterprises decentralize relatively and competive excessively, the industry profit declined. According to the results of the above four kinds of analysis method, it gets some conclusions of quantitative analysis about Jiangsu shipping industry structure. Those do the foundation for the following content of optimizing Jiangsu shipping industry structure.(3)Put forward a series of measures according to the results and conclusions of the above, they are:Adjust the industry structure and correct the disorder proportion to promote the industry structure to retionalize; Encourage technology innovation and raise the management level and professional advantages to promote the industry structure to be highly; Make reasonable policies and lay the foundation of a good system to ensure the optimization of shipping industry structure and so on.This paper aims to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of Jiangsu shipping industry, hopes Jiangsu province to realize its position in fierce competition and to accelerate the shipping industry to optimize and upgrade for it to develop healthily. This study can not only enrich the theory of shipping industry structure but also provide some reference value for shipping industry&shipping enterprises&relevant government departments and provide basis for they to make scientific policies.
