How to fulfillsocial responsibility growing concernes of the community. Companies want to comeout on top in the increasingly fierce competition in the market, they must keptinteract with the impact of multilateral contract system balanc ed to maintain theviability and sustainable development. Social responsibility has significantexternally, legitimacy theory in political science provides an effective explanationfor social responsibility information disclosure motivation study. This articleselected the2008-2011A-share listed companies which published socialresponsibility rating report by an independent third party--Rankins CSR Ratings asthe primary sample. We conducted a theoretical analysis and empirical testing on thekey stakeholders "legitimacy" of pressure on the specific impact of corporate socialresponsibility information disclosure factors.This study showed that the legitimacy of the stakeholder pressure has a positiveeffect on the level of information disclosure of listed corporate social responsibility.Empirical results show that government as important source of the pressure of the"Regulative Legitimacy". It’s the key to promote the state-owned listed companiesand political association of listed companies disclos ure more social responsibility.Media as the spread of the carrier of enterprise "Normative Legitimacy", the right ofmaster guidance of public opinion will brought high exposure to enterprises andconsequently high degree of government regulation "legitimacy" of pressure.Therefore, the listed companies with high degree of media attention tend todisclosure more social responsibility. The larger listed companies have a strongmotivation to disclose more social responsibility to establish the public image of agood corporate citizen and to win the "Cognitive Legitimacy" of the enterprise.Enterprises in sensitive sectors of the environment and consumers-sensitive are tendto choose social responsibility information disclosure strategy in order to maintaintheir own sustainable development. Legitimacy motivation provides a newperspective for further study of the social responsibility information disclosurebehavior. And also provides guidance for government and corporate to weightinterests of all parties. In order to better promote the practice of social responsibility information disclosure.
