With the development of each country, there are always accompanied with the problems of Urbanization and Residents income gap, so many scholars have been pay attention to not only them, but also their relation. At present, the academic circles have reach a conclusion on the influence of the Residents income gap to the Urbanization, namely the expansion of Residents income gap can accelerate the course of Urbanization. But the question of whether we can raise the level of Urbanization so as to narrow the Residents income gap, is each according to its lights.China has a vast territory and abundant resources, and the economic development among provinces is very different. While the strategic conception of " Development of the West Regions" which put forward in the "fifteenth" plan, offered good opportunity to the development of the west area. Sichuan Province as an economic province in Western China, after30years of reform and opening-up, with the adjustment of the economic structure, it’s economic strength is growing, people’s material cultural level and spiritual cultural level has greatly improved. However, with the rapid economic development, residents income gap is widening. Moderate income gap can not only promote the labor production efficiency, stimulate employee enthusiasm for production, and compliance with the rules of market economy development, but excessive income gap would have a negative influence on the economy running of society, and it is not conducive to the development of social economy. In order to build a socialist harmonious society, the primary issue is to optimize the income distribution system of urban and rural residents, and the urban and rural residents can enjoy more benefits. Sichuan Province is a big agriculture province dominated by agriculture, with the improvement of the level of economic development, urban-rural income gap is expanding. In the process of urbanization, the correct understanding of the relationship between urbanization and residents income gap, not only has a practical significance for narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas, but also has practical significance for the rural and urban integration process.This paper chooses Sichuan Province as the research object, based on21cities and prefectures2000-2011statistics, studies the urbanization comprehensive index system variables impact on the income gap of residents. Firstly, in the literature review we analyze the different between the concept of urbanization and the concept of city, urbanization and industrialization, at the same time define the concept of rural urbanization, and then analyze the western urbanization theory Lewis Model, Jorgenson model and Todaro model of urbanization development model meaning, through statistical data collection, collation Sichuan Province during2000-2011, analyze the current situation of income distribution of urban and rural residents in Sichuan province. Secondly, building including urbanization rate, per capita GDP logarithmic rate of industrialization, the tertiary industry, the proportion of the working population and the government fiscal expenditure index of the urbanization comprehensive index system, using econometric analysis software Eviews6.0and Stata10.0, through the panel data unit root test, co-integration test, first establishes the fixed effect model, then establish dynamic panel fixed effects model, analysis of whether there is a long-term equilibrium relationship between urbanization level and the income of residents, influence of each explanatory variable urbanization comprehensive index system of resident income gap is positive or negative. Finally, on the basis of empirical research, we give the suggestion on how to narrow the income gap between urban and rural residents and make policy recommendations to promote the development of urbanization in Sichuan Province. This section describes the significances and the organization structure of research, then elaborates the research ideas and research framework.In the second chapter, we analyze the different between the concept of urbanization and the concept of city, urbanization and industrialization, at the same time define the concept of rural urbanization, then comment on the western urbanization theory and summarize their guiding significance for the development of China’s urbanization.The third chapter analyzes Sichuan Province urbanization and income distribution situation. This chapter consists of three parts:Analysis of the distribution of the income of urban and rural residents in Sichuan Province, comparative regional analysis of the income gap between urban and rural residents in Sichuan Province, comparison of Sichuan Province and the national income gap between urban and rural residents.The fourth chapter using econometric analysis software Eviews6.0and Stata10.0, through the panel data unit root test, co-integration test, establishes the fixed effect model, then establish dynamic panel fixed effects model, analysis of whether there is a long-term equilibrium relationship between urbanization level and the income of residents.The final chapter includes study conclusions, conclusions of analysis and policy advice.
