Definition And Entrepreneurs Antecedent Research Network Capabilities

Entrepreneurial activity is reputed as the engine of the economic development in whether developing or developed countries. It has played a significant role in the giant progress of China’s economic development for more than30years since the very beginning of the reform and openness, and will also remain important or even more important in the future. However, a cruel fact which can’t be neglected is that most entrepreneurial activities must struggle through their initial stage and can only last no more than three years in average. The entrepreneurs, core of the entrepreneurial activities, are weak in competition and deficient in resources acquisition at the beginning; for this reason, entrepreneur network ability becomes not only an important approach obtaining the external resources, but also a guarantee to the enterprise’s existing and developing. Therefore, it is of both realistic significance and practical value to define the network ability for entrepreneurs and to explore the antecedents of it under context of China.On basis of extant literatures and Chinese status in quo, this paper provides implications for strengthening the effectiveness of one’s entrepreneur network ability in long term when starting a business, and for improving entrepreneur network ability through defining specifically one’s network ability and exploring the antecedents of it. That is to say, the author-puts forward this study based on the related researches from domestic and foreign countries. Firstly, it defines the conception of one’s entrepreneur network ability, explains the compositions of one’s entrepreneur network ability and adopts extant mature measurement scales for evidence analysis; secondly, it can be found that the research literatures explaining the antecedents of entrepreneur network ability are quite lacking. To make up this gap, this paper will take the mature measurement scale as devices for studying the antecedents.According to theoretical analysis above,15hypotheses are proposed in this paper. To test these hypotheses, I did a116valid questionnaires survey, then adopted SPSS17.0as the analysis tool of descriptive statistical analysis, reliability and validity factor analysis, correlation analysis. Through testing on the model and hypotheses proposed of this paper, conclusions can be drawn as below:(1) By analysing the data in questionnaires, the entrepreneur network ability compositions are tested, which includes relationship orientation, relationship management and relationship construction.(2) During in testing the antecedents of one’s entrepreneur network ability, it can be found that individual characteristics, family background and personal experience exert significantly on the developing of one’s entrepreneur network ability, among which personal experience plays the most important role.Based on the above conclusions, the author comes up with some relevant suggestions and implications at the end of this paper. As a summary, the author believes that whatever from the level of individual or firm to elaborate network ability, this study is of vital value.
