An Empirical Analysis Of Agricultural Economic Growth In Henan Province

Agriculture is the basis of a country, Henan Province is one big agricultural province inChina and it is of great significance to study the agricultural economic growth problem ofHenan.Firstly, this study analysis the development of Henan’s agricultural during the period of1988-2011from the aspects of its achievement, inputs, internal structure and problems itfacing, it was found that the agriculture in Henan Province made an important contributionfor the whole country in the production and processing of grain, meat, oil crops and otheragricultural products in the23years of the development process. While agriculture of Henanis facing the force of agricultural labor reduction and the constraints of arable land on itsdeveloping process, but it has formed a strong absorption of agricultural science andtechnology, and got the increasingly strong support from the Government, and the quality ofthe labor has also been greatly improved. As for its own internal industrial structure, wasmoving in a positive direction, the grain production capacity was maintained, the animalhusbandry also showed a rapidly growth, and the growth of Agricultural in Henan has formeda healthy trend according to its own characters. However, the agriculture in Henan Provinceis still facing problems such as weak agricultural infrastructure, low agricultural profits, theoutflow of agricultural production factors, constraints of arable land and small managementscale.Another focus of this research is what factors affect the growth of the agriculturaleconomy in Henan, and what the mechanism is. During the study, the method of principalcomponent analysis was applied to study the issues. It was discovered that, during1988-2011,the adoption of technology made a important contribution to the growth of Henan’sagricultural economics, the improvement of labor quality made up of the productionefficiency loss brought by the labor surplus and the process of urbanization is conducive tothe development of the agriculture in Henan Province, also the internal restructuringhighlighted of the advantage Henan have and played an important in the growth. The policyalso showed huge power of promotion in the agricultural development.Finally, according to the findings and conclusions of the study on the situation ofagricultural development and the working factors contributing to the Growth of Agricultural Economy in Henan， suggestions was proposed to guarantee the agriculturaldevelopment of the next stage as following, developing new agricultural productiontechnology, continue optimizing the input and output structure of itself, and financialsupport for agriculture should be increased to improve the agricultural production conditions.
