The initial idea of this study was to develop a research based on the international trend of environmentally friendly technologies, which Colombia is lacking on. However, in the course of the research it became an idea that could be a reality because it turned into an entrepreneurial case to develop.Colombia is a developing country that has been immerse in a social conflict for more than50years. This atypical situation has kept Colombia aside of the world’s advances in terms of technology and economy. The process of strengthen the economy was slow for one decade since the official economy opening in1991, and it started to be faster and showing results with Uribe’s presidential term, because the government was focus on improving the relationship between Colombia and the world, and, at the same time, it was also concerned about establishing a marketing strategy to change the bad image of the country in the world.Nowadays, Colombia is a developing country with an emerging market that is trying to go with the world’s vanguard ideals. Part of the strategy to be in the vanguard is to entry onto the trend of using efficient energies, not only to be with this world’s trend, but also because the country is having serious environmental issues caused by its carbon dioxide emissions and its big problems automobile congestion in its main cities.The main purpose of this study is to analyze the feasibility of importing electric vehicle to Colombia and to discover if Colombia is ready to get into this trend. To achieve it, this document was concentrated on the characteristics of Colombian Market, its current situation in all aspects such as political, social, economic, technological, legal and environmental situation. Moreover, it was important to know what is the current market situation in terms of competition and positioning of the product, its size and what the legal requirements for importing are. All these information were necessary to build a convenience marketing strategy and they were the input to do the financial analysis of the project. Before knowing the market to enter, it was important to know the main features of the product in order to be aware of its advantages and disadvantages, and also to look for the supplier in china that will fit the conditions of offering a product with know-how, and good quality with a convenient price. Besides that, it was also important to know deeply the current situation of the country from which the goods will be delivered.With this study it was possible to realize that, despite Colombia being a country with a growing and stable economy that offers guaranties for this kind of projects, there is a problem of infrastructure that hardens the entrance of electric vehicles and makes people feel confident using them. Besides that,there is also an issue of cultural barrier that will have a relevant impact on whether the business is successful or not.
