As the continuous development of China’s information science and technology,the popularization of the Internet and the increasing numbers of cyber citizens,China’s electronic commerce has been developing rapidly, which signifies the arrivalof a new epoch of Internet business. Yet, the features of electronic commerce cannotcapacitate the traditional banking financial services to satisfy the increasing demandin electronic business activities.This paper elaborates the background and significance of China Merchants Bankdeveloping E-commercial banking business, illustrates the definition and the traits ofE-commerce banking, and summarizes relevant theories of two-sided market, supplychain finance, and joint guarantee loan. Based on the analysis of development ofE-commerce industry, the paper demonstrates the practicability of China MerchantsBank developing E-commerce banking business from the perspectives of theoreticalsupport, market demands, policy and legal support, self-advantage; determines themode of this business through the comparison of business mode E-commerce of otherdomestic banks and the combination of traits and strategic planning of ChinaMerchants Bank; based on the main products of supply chain finance and jointguarantee loan, designs a plan of E-commerce banking from the angles of structure oforganization, the sphere and procedure of business, credit rating of clients andpost-loan risk alerting system.The paper aims at providing pertinent finance products to enterprises andindividuals that have the desire to develop E-commerce business, fulfilling their needsof blooming needs for financial service meanwhile solving the financing problem ofmedium and small enterprises, expanding the customer and business scopes for CMB,improving the capability of loan pricing and risk managing, to achieve the objectiveof CMB’s second strategic transition.
