Path Analysis On The Effect Of Multinational Corporations On The International System

As for the study of the international system actors, traditional theory ordinarily believes that the sovereign state is the only important character in the international system. With the development of times and the evolution of international system, its actors also changed. Just as the new liberalism calls that the importance of the non-state actors should be considered in the international system. Under the background of globalization, MNCs develop rapidly and act frequently in the international society, so the impact of the MNCs on the international system becomes more and more important. This study mainly searches the influence of the MNCs on the international system, and the impact of the MNCs on the transformation process of the international system. We don’t deny the important irreplaceable position of the sovereign state.On the premise of combining reality and history, system and element, this study based on the liberalism correlated theory tries to analyze the inner link between the MNCs and the international system, mainly used the method of political economics, statistical methods and cases. First, I make a detailed design and indicate the dialectical relationship between MNCs and the international system. Then, expound carefully the influence and the ways of MNCs to the international system. Last, certify the above content through the typical cases.We can learn the influence of MNCs to the international system through the two aspects:on the one hand, the activity of MNCs in the economic field impact the important component of the international system, that is the international economic system; on the other hand, the development of MNCs influence the three main components of the international system, that is the actors of the international system, the interaction among the actors of the international system and its ideational structure. In addition, it is because that MNCs’ business scope involves different fields, so the ways of influence on the international system is different. In this paper, we mainly discuss the effect of MNCs on the international system through the following four methods: (1)Affecting the interaction among the actors of the international system in the light of its strong economic power, and then influencing the international system;(2)Influencing the ideational structure of the international system by cultural transmission;(3)Implementing the "energy diplomacy" through controlling energy, and then influencing the international system;(4)Promoting the forming of the global civil society through the way of participating in the activities of global governance, and then influencing the international system. Finally, in view of different views of the international system transformation in the academic world, this paper tries to forecast the transformation trend of the international system from the perspective of the MNCs.
