The Research On Space Evolution Of Agglomeration Of Technology Service Industry In China

Technology service industry is a service industry based knowledge and professionaltechnology. It can not be ignored in the economic activities, but nowadays output oftechnology service industry is low. And its proportion in the national economy is not high.The development mode of agglomeration has many advantages, such as high efficientorganization form, lower transaction costs and strong knowledge spillover effect. It canmake technology service industry to obtain long-term competitive advantage. So we shouldimprove the degree of agglomeration of Chinese technology service industry, and promotethe development of technology service industry. These make it play an important role inthe national economy.Spatial Gini coefficient and Concentration Ratio show that distribution of technologyservice industry is imbalance, and it has a great increase from1997to2011. This showsthat there is a deepening trend in the agglomeration of Chinese technology service industry.By the location quotient and spatial autocorrelation analysis, we found that the technologyservice industry in China is mainly concentrated in the Beijing-Tianjin area and YangtzeRiver Delta region. The technology service industry in the eastern region is mainlyconcentrated in Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin, and the agglomeration phenomenon is moreprominent than central and western regions. This shows that the level of technology serviceindustry in China is still low, and there is a big difference in spatial distribution. In addition,the agglomeration of technology service industry shows some spatial evolution. First, thedegree of agglomeration continues to improve. Second, technology service industrygradually distributed to the eastern region, the Beijing-Tianjin area and Yangtze RiverDelta region, Beijing and Shanghai.Based on the demonstration and theoretical analysis, we found that the level ofregional economic development, transaction costs, economies of scale, knowledgespillover and government behavior are important factors to influence the agglomeration oftechnology service industry. Regional economic development level, economy of scale,knowledge spillover, and government behavior can promote the agglomeration of technology service industry. And there is a significant negative correlation betweentransaction cost and technology service industry agglomeration. So we put forwardsuggestions to promote the agglomeration of technology service industry, such asincreasing government support and playing the role of industry associations.
