With the rapid development of China’s logistics industry and the increasing levels of national economy, an important branch-----cold chain logistics industry has been paid more and more attention to. The fast pace of human life lead them to have a great demand for fresh but perishable products, making people more dependent on the level of service and quality of cold chain logistics industry. This, to some extent, promotes the development of cold chain logistics industry.However, China’s cold chain logistics started late compared to Western countries. There are not yet a mature standard in China and cold chain logistics is failed to attract enough attention which hinders the development of the cold chain logistics industry in China seriously. Many problems features in the development process our cold chain logistics. Among them, the problem of high cold chain logistics and transport costs are the most important issues. A very important reason for high transport cost is that there are drawbacks in the optimization of cold chain logistics.This article is dedicated to the research of cold chain logistics optimization problems and seeks the best path which can minimize the generalized transportation cost of cold chain logistics, aiming at pursuing for a better solution to the current problem of high costs. This article studies the research status at home and abroad, then it studies the basic theory of cold chain logistics, including the concept of cold chain logistics, difference from the traditional logistics and key links. Then the paper analyzed the generalized transportation costs deeply incurred in the distribution process: including: fixed costs and transportation costs during the transport process; cargo damage costs; energy costs and penalty cost. In considering the five costs, the generalized transport costs are drew and the model of cold chain logistics optimization problems is established. Then, C-W saving algorithm, improved genetic algorithm and improved particle swarm optimization algorithm are designed and used to solve the model of cold chain logistics optimization problems. An appropriate example is designed and solved by JAVA programming language. Finally, the paper makes comparison among the three algorithm, discovering that improved particle swarm optimization algorithm can obtain the best solution with the minimal generalized transportation cost, the second is improved genetic algorithm and the last is C-W saving algorithm.
