So far, data resulted from the astronomical observation around the world are all obtained without considering the influence of the atmospheric tilt, but people cannot deny the existence of such an influence. With today’s requirement for the accuracy of astronomical observation goes higher and higher, failure to remove such an error of astronomical observation caused by the influence becomes an obstacle against further improvement in observation accuracy. In response to such a challenge, Mao Wei, a researcher from Yunnan Observatories, Chinese Academy of Sciences (YNAO), proposes a new theory resolving the atmospheric tilt and a new equal-altitude observation method based on the theory. To verify the feasibility of the theoretical method, the Astrometric Techniques and Applied Research team of YNAO starts developing a new astrolabe with the new equal-altitude observation method incorporated. In the article, the author details the design and implementation process of the turntable control system of the new astrolabe.To facilitate the detailed design of system hardware and software, the overall design requirements are segmented into hardware design requirements and software design requirements. Based on the segmentation, the system hardware and software design begins. To the PC as the upper computer of the system developed hardware framework, based on the system hardware framework for selection of the various hardware, and detailed hardware design parameters of electrical connections and the control unit. The servo system uses the PMAC card as the core components, also as the lower computer. Software is designed around the PMAC card’s powerful and open characteristics unfold. System software design, including lower computer programming and upper computer programming, lower computer program designed software on Pewin32PRO PMAC PLC unique language, upper computer program is the development platform on VS2010 VC ++ language. Together, they realized the position and velocity information in real-time display of the turntable, adjustable speed turntable, turntable control point operation, control turntable manual operation, manual feed (incremental) run, stop rotating turntable, turn off the motor enabled turntable set and saved zero position and run on the basis of observations outline control functions such as system software design. Finally, a comprehensive debugging and testing to the hardware and software has been done. Experiments show that this turntable control system to meet the new requirements of the pilot phase astrolabe, and for subsequent system upgrades and prepared the way. At present, the system has been put into use, and used well.The project mentioned in the thesis is co-funded by the Science and Technology Program for Social Development of Yunnan Province (2011BC010) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (U1331109).
