Early pregnancy refers to pregnancy day 1 to day 8. Implantation and decidualization are two important events during this process. This events are synchronized with uterine cell’s proliferation and apoptosis, primarily under the ovarian hormone. Daxx,a highly conserved Fas-death domain associated protein, play an important role during cell apoptosis. In order to study Daxx’s function on early pregnancy, we use the method of In Situ Hybridyzation to study the expression pattern of Daxx in different mouse models, which include normal pregnancy, psedoupregnacy mouse, delay and activated implantation, artificial induced decidualization and steroid hormone mouse models. Results are following: Daxx show spatial-temporal pattern during pregnancy day 1 to day 8. Daxx were highly expressed on the uterine epithelium of day 1 and day 2 of pregnancy, then Daxx exist on uterine stroma cells on day 3 and day 4. The Daxx’s expression pattern are similar in pregnancy and psedoupregnacy. Estrogen but not progesterone up-regulated Daxx mRNA expression and this functions can be inhibited by progesterone. Daxx mRNA expression increased during the process of the artificial induced decidualization. All of the results show that Daxx show a spatial-temporal expression during pregnancy, and its expression is regulated by ovarian estrogen. Daxx may play an important role in implantation and decidualization.
