Regional vegetation cover change is one of the main contents of the ecological environment and global environmental change research, the use of remote sensing technology to carry out large-scale study of the long sequence variation of vegetation has important significance. In recent years, the vegetation change and its responses on climate change have attracted more and more extensive attention from scholars and researches. The vegetation NDVI can represents the changes in land cover to a certain extent, research for the interactions between vegetation NDVI and climate change has become a important research topic in recent years. For a particular region, it is meaning for regional ecological environment protection and sustainable development to use remote sensing data from Vegetation NDVI analyzing the spatial and temporal variation of vegetation index driven by climate change.Based MODIS13Q1-NDVI data, taking advantage of trends analysis by-element and partial correlation analysis in some areas, for analysising the spatial and temporal variations of vegetation cover and trends in Qinghai during 2002-2013.And to further explore the factors affecting changes in vegetation cover. The results showed that:(1) 2002-2013 interannual variation of vegetation cover in Qinghai Province in the small amplitude fluctuations, and the fluctuations in a stable upward trend; (2) the region, in where the vegetation cover change in Qinghai Province,2002-2013,is in significantly increased situation are mainly concentrated in the north, decreased mainly concentrated in the southern region, the northern part of the overall look is better than the south, east than the west, northwest vast desert region due to low vegetation coverage, small changes, in a stable situation; (3) climatic factors have a significant influence on changes in vegetation cover, especially in the temperature change of vegetation cover for the greatest impact,; (4) 2002-2013, Qinghai vegetation cover index is rising primarily related to rising temperatures and increased rainfall; another major earthquake may NDVI index plunged to an annual have a certain impact.
