In this paper, Suzhou Kaolin,α-alumina, zirconium silicate were used as the main raw material, ceramic matrix material was synthesized for the main phase of Corundum zirconia-mullite. The light porous materials were prepared by rosin foam process at room temperature . In order to obtain the matrix material of excellent performance, taking full advantage of corundum phase and mullite phase. The corundum has good strength at room temperature, the mullite phase has good mechanical properties at high temperature. The material formed the corundum and mullite phase, their ratio was 1:3,introducing zirconia to improve toughness. The influences of MgO、CaO、BaO、CeO2、Y2O3 and other agents on various the performance of materials were studied. The material bulk density, flexural strength, linear shrinkage, porosity and other properties were characterized through archimedes’ principle. At the same time discussed the influences of the amount of added various additives, firingtemperature on corundum-mullite material properties. Studied the affect the law of zirconia micro-cracks and mineralizing agent on the performance of materials. Crystalline phase and composition were analyed by X-ray diffraction, the mechanical properties were tested and the microstructures were observed by scanning electron microscopy .The corundum mullite porous ceramic material was prepared by rosin foam in this study. The saponification degree of foaming agent, gelatin, calcium carbonate and other factors on the performance of foam were explored and the influences the gelatin, aluminum sulfate and rosin soap on molding the properties of porous ceramics were examined. The results show that the corundum zirconia-mullite material of good mechanical properties and excellent high temperature performances could be synthesized ,when the matrix material was composed by corundum phase and mullite phase, their ratio is 1:3, ZrSiO4 addition was 23%, 2.7% BaCO3, 1.2% MgO, firing at 1550℃,flexural strength 332.4MPa,the number of thermal shock resistance is 18 times. The porous ceramic materials were prepared by using this formula as the base material and rosin foaming process, the performance of porous ceramic materials were tested: Volume density is 0.32g/cm3, Compressive strength is 1.8MPa, The number of thermal shock resistance is 24,Thermal conductivity is 0.075W/(m·K).
