High temperature Mullite/Corundum kiln furniture was produced by mullite and corundum. The material have high using temperature (>1350 C), high temperature strength, chemical stabilization and good compatibility with product, so it is specially used to product mild magnet (ferrite) and electronic insulated ceramic. The material's thermal shock resistance is low and with the thermal shock resistance increasing the high temperature strength of the material is decreasing. The effect of gradation of grain ,matrix phase, the kind of grain and the addition of alumina fiber on microstructure and properties of high temperature Mullite/Corundum kiln furniture were investigated in this paper. The main conditions as fellows:1. With the decrease of matrix phase thermal shock resistance and high temperature were improved, but increasing the content of matrix phase made bend strength of kiln furniture high.2. The effect of matrix phase on the properties of kiln furniture is strong: the addition of Sillimanite can increase bend strength and high temperature strength of kiln furniture, and mullite powder addition may improve thermal shock resistance of kiln furniture.3. The effect of middle grain on the properties of kiln furniture is not remarkable. By comparition, the addition of Aluminum titanate can increase the bend strength and high temperature strength of kiln furniture, and the addition of M45 make the synthetic properties of kiln furniture improved, and either bend strength or high temperature strength is not good of the addition of Kyanite, but when sintering temperature reach 1550掳C thermal shock resistance of kiln furniture increases greatly.4. Through adding Alumina fiber, bend strength of kiln furniture can be increased remarkably. When the content of the fiber is up to 10%, toughening is perfect. If the addition of fiber is too much, toughening is not effective. The influence of temperature ontoughening is related with the addition amount of fiber.
