External hydraulic casing packer is a cementing tool that commonly used in containment annular space between the casing and the wall. It has expansion and compression two types. Expandable casing packer sealed after the wall contact with rubber tube by radial fluid pressure, and axial compression type is rely on hydraulic pressure to form a seal, which the expandable casing packer is used widely.Currently, expandable casing packer have many deficiencies, such as:(1) The central tube was easy to damage; (2) Sealing is not good between rubber tube and wall; (3) using life is shorter; (4) It can "breakout" to the annual space at the end of the rubber tube, eventually lead to seal failure in advance.In connection with current problems of external casing packer, this paper do the following works:(1)I have a analysis with main pressure part-central tube of expandable casing packer using ANSYS Workbench, increasing the thickness and apply appropriate fillit in the diameter changes of central tube can reduce the stress concentration, at the same time,designing a inner ring structure and the shape of groove. (2) Analysis the characteristics of contact between the wall and the sealing tube, and established a contact model with rubber and wall by Abaqus. (3) Focus on the factors of face angle of sealing tube, "breakout prevention device", single rubber tube,double rubber tube, hardness as well as friction coefficient to research the performance of sealing, and when the angle is 60 degree, sealing pressure is maximum, at the end of the rubber tube, we can increase a special "breakout prevention device"made in purple copper, which can restrain rubber tube "breakout" to the annual space effectively; For the purposes of long rubber tube of external casing packer, the article proposed a new double rubber tube structure, in addition design a special "distance ring" structure, when the gradient value of this "distance ring" structure extend to the both sides at the range of 8~12 degree, the rubber contact deformation is perfect, and then the tube bear a radial fluid pressure, also bear a axial pressure from the "distance ring", it is a good way to improve the reliability of the sealing., at the same time, improved the contact pressure.This paper has some guidance to research high-performance external casing packer in the future.
