In this paper, we researched mainly the bottom water coning principle, water breakthrough law and flooding pattern of bottom water drive and homogeneous and inhomogeneous reservoir on the basis of research on many literatures at home and abroad. Then, we further analyzed the effect of some factors such as avoiding water height for horizontal interval, reservoir dimensions, recovery percent of reserves, anisotropic permeability,, the length of horizontal well, the permeability between large permeability zone and low permeability zone and the variation coefficient for them and so on on water breakthrough time, oil recovery without water and recovery ratio. The effect on controlling water and enhancing oil recovery in homogeneous and inhomogeneous reservoir that adopted the inflow control device(ICD) controlling water technique was evaluated, and the effect of reservoir heterogeneity, the length and flow rate of controlling section for ICD on controlling water was analyzed. Eventually, we calculated the case and obtained the following results.(1)The water breakthrough patterns of horizontal well for bottom water homogeneous reservoir were "water breakthrough in the central section—xpansion to both sides—ater breakthrough in whole wellbore—ift of water on flank", and the pattern for inhomogeneous reservoir include primarily water breakthrough on single point, water breakthrough on several points and its water flooding patterns were" water breakthrough in large permeability zone—xpansion along the horizontal wellbore—xpansion on the second height—ater flooding in whole wellbore".(2)The dimensionless length for horizontal well, the single well control reserve the height of avoiding water and the thickness of clay. interlayer had positive correlation with the waterless oil production of horizontal well, while the drawdown pressure, Kv/Kh, the permeability range and the variation coefficient of permeability had negative correlation with it.(3)The unobvious effect of ICD on controlling water and enhancing oil recovery in homogeneous was showed from the research in this paper. We found that when ICD was installed in the large permeability zone of horizontal well in the inhomogeneous reservoir, the effect on controlling water and enhancing oil recovery is obvious. The factors that affected controlling water and enhancing oil of ICD included primarily the ration of length of large permeability zone to of horizontal well, range and variation coefficient of permeability。Generally, the more inhomogeneous is strong, the more obvious effect of the ICD technique on controlling of bottom water coning, incensement of oil production(4)There were important impacts of installed location, the length of controlling section and flow rate for ICD on controlling water and enhancing oil recovery. The results of numerical simulation showed that when ICD was installed on the large permeability zone for horizontal interval, the length of controlling section was slightly higher or equal than that of large permeability. The effect of controlling water and enhancing oil was best when the flow rate per meter of large permeability zone was equal to average flow rate per meter of all sections for horizontal well.
