Plant essential oils, also kown as volatile oils, essential oils and aromatic oils, is a kind of fragrant plant volatile secondary metabolites in the body. It is mainly composed of small molecular and simple compounds which has certain activity and can be distilled out together with the steam. In addition to having a perfumery raw materials application, plant essential oils have a role in many functions, such as antibacterial, insecticidal, anti-oxidation, promoting tissue regeneration, etc. Essential oils increasingly used in the fields of food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and bio-pesticides. Aiming to provide an experimental basis and accumulate data in the field of disinfection, corrosion mildew, storage preservation. This article mainly discusses the antimicrobial effect, analyze the composition and evaluate the antibacterial activity on more than ten kinds of plant essential oils. Using the screening assessment results, essential oils mixed in a synergistic way. Air disinfectant experiment was carried out according to the requirements of national disinfection technical specifications. The main research results are as follows:1. The primary chemical component from the16plant essential oils was identified by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS) technique. The results showed that Cineole was identified in the Amomum tsaoko, Semen Myristicae and Eucalyptus globules which was40.74%,84.23%and90.38%respectively.The main chemical compound was trans-Cinnamaldehyde and Cinnamaldehyde which was49.26%and6.60%in Cinnamomum cassia. The main chemical copounds were Diallyl disulfide and Diallyl tetrasulfide in Allium sativum, their content were34.16%and12.85%respectively.The1-Caryophyllene shared the total cotent of Piper nigrum which was51.62%.The main chemical components of essential oils from Zingiber officinale Roscoe was Curcumene (11.47%),cis-Anethol was identified in Foeniculum vulgare which was85.69%.The main chemical components of essential oils from Cuminum cyminum, Herba Menthae Heplocalycis, Litsea cubeba, Lavandula angustifolia, Zanthorylum bungeanum, Syzygium aromaticum, Illicium verum, Origanum vulgare and Eucalyptus globules were Cuminaldehyde (20.80%), menthol (12.56%),Citral (9.35%),2-Borneol (21.52%),Linalool (51.00%),Eugenol (34.19%), cis-Anethol (85.36%), D(+)-Carvone (18.59%) respectively.2. The antibacterial activities were tested against Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Saccharmoyces cerevisiae.Penicillium sp.and Aspergillum sp. with16plant essential oils including Cinnamomum cassia, Semen Myristicae, Amomum tasoko, Piper nigrum, Zingiber officinale Roscoe, Lavandula angustifolia, Cuminum cyminum, Syzygium aromaticum, IIllicium verum, Herba Menthae Heplocalycis, Foeniculum vulgare, Litsea cubea, Eucalyptus globules, Origanum vulgare, Zanthorylum bungeanum and Allium sativum(In addition to Litsea cubea, Eucalyptus globules, Origanum vulgare, Zanthorylum bungeanum and Allium sativum from commercial oil,the rest to the essential oils were obtained by steam distillation) by filter paper method. Meanwhile antibacterial properties of the oils were compared, screening out the plant essential oils with good antibacterial effect on the correspondent culture. The primary conclusions were as follows:(1) Cinnamomum cassia essential oil and Lavandula angustifolia essential oil have a bacteriostatic action on pathogenic bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus. Origanum vulgare, Litsea cubea, Eucalyptus globules and Herba Menthae Heplocalycisessential oils have a bacteriostatic action on pathogenic bacteria, such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, Syzygium aromaticum, Cuminum cyminum and Lavandula angustifolia essential oils have a bacteriostatic action on pathogenic bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis. Amomum tasoko and Zanthorylum bungeanum essential oils have a bacteriostatic action on Escherichia coli.(2) Cinnamomum cassia and Syzygium aromaticum and Litsea cubea essential oils have a bacteriostatic action on Penicillium sp., Aspergillum sp. and Saccharmoyces cerevisiae respectively; Cuminum cyminum essential oil has a good bacteriostatic action on Penicillium sp.; Herba Menthae Heplocalycis, Lavandula angustifolia.Origanum vulgare essential oils have a bacteriostatic action on Saccharmoyces cerevisiae.3. Liquid medium dilution method measured the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and the minimum bacteriocidation concentration (MBC) on preliminary screening essential oils against the corresponding strains. The results were as follows:(1) Litsea cubea, Origanum vulgare, Zanthorylum bungeanum, Syzygium aromaticum, Cinnamomum cassia, Herba Menthae Heplocalycis and Eucalyptus globules essential oils to Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) ranged between0.74%and2.97%, while the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) ranged between1.49%and2.97%. Amomum tasoko essential oil to Escherichia coli, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) were respectively1.49%and5.94%. Cuminum cyminum oil to Staphylococcus aureus, both the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) were1.49%.(2) Cinnamomum cassia, Syzygium aromaticum and Litsea cubea essential oils to Penicillium sp., Aspergillum sp. and Saccharmoyces cerevisiae, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) ranged between1.49%and2.97%, while the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) ranged between1.49%and5.94%. Cuminum cyminum oil to Penicillium sp., both the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) were2.97%. Herba Menthae Heplocalycis, Origanum vulgare and Lavandula angustifolia essential oils to Saccharmoyces cerevisiae, both the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) were1.49%.4. According to the requirements of national disinfection technical specifications, air disinfectant experiment was carried outln a confined space, when using0.2ml per cubic meter of space composite plant essential oils, airborne microorganisms sterilization rate up to99.8%; when using4ml per cubic meter of space composite plant essential oils emulsion(including Lavandula angustifolia.Herba Menthae Heplocalycis, Eucalyptus globules,Cinnamomum cassia, Syzygium aromaticum and Origanum vulgare were0.2ml), air sterilization rate of Escherichia coli bacterial suspension reached99.9%, which had reached the required level of disinfectant.
