This paper briefly introduced the properties and use of cracking C9aromatics which was the important byproduct from the process of producing ethylene. The characterizations, applications and extraction methods of dicyclopentadiene were summarized as well. Dicyclopentadiene in cracking C9aromatics has a wide utilization prospect because of its high content and ecomomical value. Integration method of vacuum rectification and decompression extraction distillation was adopted to extract dicyclopentadiene from cracking C9aromatics in this article, and the cracking C9aromatics were getted from the olefin plant of Sinopec Yangtze Petrochemical Company Ltd.The vacuum distillation experiment for removing the heavier and lighter components was simulated by Aspen plus simulation software. The affecting factors in this experiment such as tower plat number, material input position, tower top output and reflux ratio were studied in simulation respectively, and the optimal technological parameters were obtained. Under the optimum conditions, the mass fraction and yield of dicyclopentadiene were68.53%and63.64%respectively. According to the optimal simulation result, the vacuum distillation experiment was carried out, and the mass fraction and yield of dicyclopentadiene were67.81%and62.97%respectively.Extractants were screened by vapor-liquid equilibrium data determination. The effects of different extractants on the relative volatility of methylstyrene to dicyclopentadiene were studied. When N-methyl pyrrolidone was chosen as extraction solvent, the biggest relative volatility is1.4635. So N-methyl pyrrolidone was chosen as the extracting agent of decompression extractive distillation experiment.The decompression extraction rectify experiment was simulated by Aspen plus simulation software. The affecting factors in this experiment such as tower plat number, extractant input position, material input position, tower top output, reflux ratio and the ratio of solvent were studied in simulation respectively, and the optimal technological parameters were obtained. Under the optimum conditions, the mass fraction and yield of dicyclopentadiene were91.36%and70.06%respectively.The present method of vacuum distillation-decompression extractive distillation to refine DCPD from cracking C9aromatics in this paper is an effective way to improve the comprehensive utilization value of cracking C9aromatics, which has promising development and application prospects. The research work can provide evidence for the further amplification research.
