With the development of industry, the emission of high concentration organic wastewater is getting serious. The wastewater are always more toxic,more difficult to degrade, and have complex composition. It is harmful to human health and the environment. Currently, there are many ways to degrade the wastewater, especially the application of Catalytic Wet Air Oxidation. In this way, metal catalysts can enhance the performance of catalytic oxidation effectively, and improve the effect of degradation. Although we have made some progress on the theory of catalysis, but we still failed to develop the reliability theory on the composition, the structure and the function of catalysts. As a result, we have to rely on the experience and intuition to screen a new catalytic material in most cases. Of course, this method is inefficient, and limit the screening and development of new catalysts.In this study, we designed a new high-throughput screening method to screen catalysts. The whole screening process can screen hundreds of targets simultaneously, and select the catalyst with the best catalytic performance. It can improve the screening process effectively. Firstly, use the experience of gene chip in biology, we made the reaction chip arranged the metal catalysts orderly. Secondly we made the paper test as the method of screening. Thirdly we set up the reaction generator according with the procedure strictly. Finally, we did a experiment to prove if the method is feasible and the result is accurate. The specific process and results are as follows:(1) The preparation of reaction chip. The purpose is to arrange the metal catalysts on the slide glass orderly. We selected12kinds of metals as alternative catalysts. Firstly, printed the metals on the slide glass through the inkjet printing method according to the designed layout. Then fixed them by high-temperature sintering. To fix the metal catalysts orderly, we prepared the array substrate of super hydrophobic surface processing super hydrophilic dot.The array substrate can constrain the deposition position and deposition area of the metal droplets efficiently. It can improve the accuracy of the array of metal catalysts.(2) The selection of detection method. We made the paper test as the method of screening. The method of paper test is not only simple and convenient, but can detect all of the reaction points simultaneously and got the test results. It can satisfy the requirements of high throughput screening. We selected the coated paper as the test paper. It has some advantages such as small diffusivity, strong independence and high precision. After the testing of its accuracy, we got the test paper can reflect the distribution of the droplets.(3) The construct of reaction generator. The reaction generator mainly include four parts:spray device, reaction device, detection devices, and recording device. Firstly, atomized the reaction solution into microdroplets through the spray device, and sprayed them onto the reaction chip evenly. Secondly, after the droplets fall onto the reaction chip, put the reaction chip to a closed reactor quickly, in order the reaction solution can react with the metal catalysts. Thirdly, used the detection device to detect the reaction results after the reaction completed. Finally, used the recording device to record the detection results.(4) The operation and analysis of the simulated experiment. According to the simulated experiment and the analysis of the results, we screened8groups metal catalysts which have the best catalytic performance.To prove the accuracy of the results, we made the relatively macroscopic experiment. Finally we got the catalysts we screened are really effective, and it is also proved the method of high-throughput screening is feasible.
