Abstract Taking rapidly solidified alloy as the research object, we chose the Al-based alloy to perform an experiment. With the aid of vacuum arc furnace, DSC and thermal dilatometer, we measured characteristic temperatures of the metallic glass and thermal expansion behavior. After got thermal stability parameters, we analyzed of the strength of thermal stability about the different alloy, and compared with superheated liquid brittleness parameters. Westudied systematically the correlations between superheated liquids fragility and thermal stability about rapidly solidified alloy and explored the essence of superheated liquid brittle behavior. These findings contribute to the understanding of dynamics of liquid essentially about its liquid-solid transition genetic behavior. And the research and application about liquid fragility will extend from the glass to the entire field of metal and alloy; in addition, it can direct design, preparation and performance testing in the production of rapidly solidified material.Effects of six Al-based alloy, in all alloys Al92.5Ti2.5Fe2.5Cr2.5 alloy maximum average thermal expansion coefficient, thermal stability that is the worst; Al80Ni20 alloy minimum average thermal expansion coefficient, thermal stability that is the best, and the Al-Ni alloy comparison can be seen, when the number of elements Al and Ni element atomic ratio of 4:1, the average thermal expansion coefficient of the smallest; In addition, the Al-Fe alloy to Al-Ti-Fe, with the addition of new elements, the average thermal expansion coefficient of the alloy increases the thermal stability becomes worse. The relationship between the fragility parameter of superheated liquids, M, and the elastic parameters in Al-based amorphous alloys is investigated. There is a positive correlation between M and elastic constants. The positive correlation between M with elastic constants may be attributed to the few flow units of an amorphous alloy with a large M. Moreover, it is found the ratio, K/G (bulk modulus K, shear modulus G) had a linear relationship with Tg/Ti*(1/M).Viscosity is an important parameter to reflect the properties of the fluid, it can directly reflect the properties of different fluids. The measurement of different aluminum alloys by rotary vibration viscometer thus obtains the rapid solidification of aluminum alloy viscosity becomes smaller as the temperature rises law.
